Do my images leave this device for processing?

No. The image workflow runs locally in your browser. A working project can be stored as browser site data on this device, but the selected files and processed results are not sent to an OptimizePixels image-processing server.

Which image format should I choose?

WebP is a useful modern default for many websites. Test AVIF when maximum compression matters, JPEG when traditional compatibility is required, and PNG for transparency, screenshots or graphics that need lossless detail.

What quality setting should I use?

There is no universal setting. A range around 75 to 85 is often a sensible starting point for photographic WebP or JPEG output, but you should compare the actual image at its intended display size before publishing it.

Should I resize an image before compressing it?

Usually, if its pixel dimensions are much larger than the largest size at which it will be displayed. Reducing unnecessary dimensions can save more data than compression alone.

Should I keep my original images?

Yes. Keep original source files separately when you may need to edit, crop or export them again. Optimized website images are delivery copies rather than ideal archive masters.

Can I optimize several images together?

Yes. Add multiple images, apply shared output settings and save the processed files together. Review a representative selection because different images can respond differently to the same quality setting.
